Sunday, March 4, 2—4 PM
Wish for the health and happiness of young girls with songs, a dance performance and festival-related food while learning about and enjoying displays of intricately decorated Hinamatsuri dolls. Make your own doll! Both girls and boys are welcome to participate.
Tickets: $15/$8 Japan Society members; children ages 2 or under free. Advance ticket purchase recommended. Recommended for children ages 3-10 and accompanying adults.

Hinamatsuri Program
Learn about the history and traditions of Hinamatsuri in this interactive program for kids filled with songs led by Michiyo Kigawa! Children will have the opportunity to go onstage to help decorate the hina doll set. |

Japanese Classical Dance Performance: Sachiyo Ito & Company
Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Japanese classical dance and dancers in Kimono, performed by internationally-recognized Sachiyo Ito & Company. |

Mini Dance Workshop with Sachiyo Ito & Company
Learn the basic movements of Japanese classical dance and how to use dance fans for expressive movements in this hands-on mini workshop with Sachiyo Ito & Company. Perform a short dance piece that expresses the beauty of flowers! |

Hina Dolls
Make your very own dolls, and create your own hina doll display at home! |

Tsurushi-bina
Tsurushi-bina, small hanging dolls, are often displayed during Hinamatsuri. Decorated with lucky symbols, they contain wishes for the child to grow up healthy and well. Make your own Tsurushi-bina! |

Decorative Wagashi
During Hinamatsuri, families may enjoy wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) that are specially decorated for the festival. Try your hand at making an assortment of decorative wagashi at this hands-on craft station! |
